Volvo CEO Announces Best is Yet to Come

Today, Volvo issued a press release announcing that it has no plans to slow the pace of expansion, despite major recent successes. President and CEO Hakan Samuelsson expressed pride in the company's increased profit margin but pointed out that there was still a progress to be made.

“Volvo’s transformation is nowhere near complete. The company’s revitalization has been effective so far, but work remains to be done and we are entirely focused on the future. "Samuelsson said. "The next stage in Volvo’s expansion will be even more exciting than the first.”

Some of the upcoming changes include a renewed product portfolio and continued repositioning of the brand to better compete with global rivals. Volvo will also continue in its quest to become a leader in both Autonomous and Electric vehicle technology. In 2017, the company is set to begin an ambitious real-world autonomous vehicle test in Gothenburg, with 100 real customers using AD cars in their everyday lives.

“We will grow, but we will not grow fat,” said Samuelsson. “Improving productivity is always a priority. We have come a long way in the last five years, but we still have a long way to go.”
